Photograph of the Month - May 2008

Economist and journalist. Davis studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics at St John's College, Oxford (1981-4) and gained an MPA at Harvard University. He worked for the Institute for Fiscal Studies before joining the BBC as an economics correspondent in 1993, becoming Economics Editor in 2001. Evans gained wider public prominence as the presenter of BBC2 television business reality show Dragon's Den (from 2005), through his BBC blog Evanomics and, since April 2008, as a presenter on BBC Radio Four's Today programme.

Photographed at sitter's home, Earls Court, London, for the Sunday Telegraph, Seven magazine. Vermandel began photographing in 1996 for Vox, The Wire and Time Out, before receiving commissions from a wider variety of publications including the Telegraph, Independent and British Vogue. Her fine art photography has been exhibited at the ICA and Douglas Hyde Gallery, Dublin.
