Born in London, Khan took up Bengali folk dancing at the age of seven and as a teenager he toured the world in Sir Peter Brook's play The Mahabharata. He went on to train in a variety of dance forms including classical ballet. His unique style of choreography, sometimes described as Contemporary Kathak, has won him many awards and in 2005 he received an MBE for his services to the UK dance community. In October 2007 Khan performed at Sadler's Wells Theatre in Zero Degrees, a collaboration with Moroccan-Flemish dancer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. Stuart graduated from Newport School of Art Media & Design in 1996, where he studied under renowned photographer, Paul Seawright. He has worked as a freelance photographer since 1998.
