Actor. The daughter of film and stage director Sir Peter Hall and
opera singer Maria Ewing. Hall made her stage debut in 2002 in Shaw’s
Mrs Warren's Profession, which won her the Ian Charleson Award. Her
cinematic career began with appearances in Starter for 10 (2006) and
The Prestige (2006). In 2008 Hall was hailed at the Cannes Film
Festival for her performance in Woody Allen’s Vicky, Cristina,
Barcelona (2008), for which she also received a Golden Globe
nomination. Other film and TV work includes Frost/Nixon (2008), Channel
4 adaptation of David Peace's Red Riding novels and the forthcoming
Dorian Gray (2009). Hall’s most recent work has been in London,
appearing in Sam Mendes’s productions of The Cherry Orchard and The
Winter’s Tale at the Old Vic Theatre (23 May -15 August).
Born
in Camden, Bell has been a portrait photographer since 1990. In 2006 he
was awarded The Terence Donovan Award for an outstanding contribution
to photography. He lives and works in London and New York.
