London Fashion week (18–22 September) is to be held for the first time at Somerset House and coincides with Twiggy’s 60th birthday, which is being celebrated with a display of iconic portraits in Room 33. Twiggy whose career began in 1966 is shown with fellow supermodel Kate Moss (b.1974), who came to prominence on the cover of The Face photographed by Corinne Day in
1990. Both models have achieved international recognition for their signature look. This photograph was taken for a special issue of i-D magazine, in which Twiggy and Moss were two of twelve models each with their own cover for the March 2009 issue.

Sølve Sundsbø was born and raised in Norway, and has lived in London since 1995. He began his career assisting Nick Knight and his work was first exhibited in the National Portrait Gallery display In the Making: Fashion and advertising (2 July–14 October 2007). Sundsbo’s advertising campaigns include work for Armani, Yves Saint Laurent, Hermes and Gucci, and
album covers for Royksopp and Coldplay.
