A celebration of Americans and American history through portraits from the painting and photographic collections of the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC.

Notable Americans such as George and Martha Washington, Benjamin Franklin, George Gershwin, Ingrid Bergman and Audrey Hepburn, will represent the diverse range of individuals who have shaped American history.

This exhibition has been organised by the National Portrait Gallery, Smithsonian Institution, Washington, DC.
