An exhibition created by blind and partially sighted people

Fame! is the fourth in the Gallery's innovative Reaching Out, Drawing In series. This exhibition, which has been developed in partnership with RNIB explores concepts of fame and celebrity from the perspective of blind and partially sighted people.

Participants included school children, young adults and older people. They worked alongside artists, oral historians and facilitators to make their own interpretations of portraits featuring celebrities.

Sculpture, mixed-media work and an audio installation of oral history and reminiscence are displayed alongside portraits from the Gallery's Collections.

Fame! involved Dorton House School (Royal London Society for the Blind), the Haringey Phoenix Group and the Royal National College for the Blind.

An audio guide, accessible to blind and partially sighted visitors, is available at all times in the exhibition. Personal guides will be on hand to offer assistance as required during Wednesday and Sunday afternoons and Thursday evenings. You will soon be able to download pre-visit information from this website or we will be able to send you a CD in advance.

Personal Guides
Personal guides will be on hand to offer assistance to individuals at the following times:
Wednesdays and Sundays: 14.00-17.00
Thursdays: 17.00-20.30
