Richard Brazier studied at Chelsea College of Art and Design and Rhode Island School of Design. His work has been seen in the exhibitions of Royal Society of Portrait Painters in 1999, 2003, 2008 (Winner) and 2009 and was previous included in the BP Portrait Award in 1997, 1998, 2001 and 2007.

This portrait of Brazier’s acquaintance, David Carter, was created over a period of a year from March 2010.
