Join Queer Perspectives host Sadie Lee and her guest, artist Andrew Logan as they muse on selected pieces in the collection.
Andrew Logan belongs to a unique school of English eccentrics. He is a sculptural artist who challenges convention, mixes media and plays with our artistic values. Since its beginnings, Logan’s work has depended on the inventive use of whatever was to hand. With flair and fantasy he transformed real objects into their new and different versions. His artistic world includes fauna, flora, planets and gods. He is the inventor and impresario of the unconventional beauty pageant The Alternative Miss World. A documentary about his work, The British Guide to Showing Off was released in 2009. Andrew Logan’s distinctive work is in public collections, including the National Portrait Gallery and in 1991 he had a retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art, Oxford.
Sadie Lee is a painter, DJ and our Queer Perspectives resident host. She is a winner of the BP Travel Award and has spent time in Los Angeles studying American former striptease legends to create the Ladies of the Burlesque portrait series.
