Join poets Luke Wright, Clare Pollard and Ross Sutherland as they take inspiration from Man Ray Portraits for a night of poetry taking in Surrealism, Dadaism, the muse and light.
Luke Wright has performed his solo poetry stage shows to sold out audiences at The Edinburgh Fringe, received five star reviews and has completed extensive national tours. His first collection Mondeo Man, released this year. He hosts and co-programmes all the poetry for The Latitude Poetry Arena, one of the biggest and most popular poetry events in Europe, with over 60 poets performing for 40 hours. Luke is the founder of poetry collective Aisle16, who run Homework, a night of literary miscellany in Bethnal Green. The Observer have described Luke as 'the best young performance poet around'.
Clare Pollard has published four collections of poetry, including Changeling (Bloodaxe, 2011) which is a Poetry Book Society recommendation. Her play The Weather premiered at the Royal Court Theatre and her documentary for radio, My Male Muse, was a Radio 4 Pick of the Year. Her new version of the Heroides by Ovid will be published by Bloodaxe in May 2013 as Ovid’s Heroines.
Ross Sutherland is a poet, journalist and creative writing tutor. He is a member of live literature collective Aisle 16, and has toured shows nationally and internationally, including The Three Stigmata of Pacman and Comedian Dies in the Middle of Joke.
His collections include Things To Do Before You Leave Town, the limited edition mini-book Twelve Nudes. His latest works Emergency Window, were described by The Independent as full of 'lucid observations, smart conceits and insights into the contemporary world'.
