Film scholar Dr Lucy Bolton introduces Fish Tank (Dir: Andrea Arnold 2009; cert: 15; 123 minutes). Fish Tank concerns the experiences of fifteen-year old Mia as she negotiates the people, places, and animals in her life. The film creates a building sense of anxiety in relation to the arrival of her mother's new boyfriend Connor: is he a benign or predatory, caring or dangerous?  Followed by discussion and Q&A.
