Vanessa Fenton

Dancer and choreographer Vanessa Fenton  performs a solodance piece inspired by Satie’s Parade with a new score by Martyn Ware and costume by Bruce French. Parade was commissioned by Diaghilev for the Ballets Russes in 1916-17, choreographed by Massine, composed by Satie and designed by Picasso.  Fenton draws upon Massine’s original choreography and the theme of man’s loss of his inner creativity, mixing everyday movements and simple acrobatics with the classical ballet technique.
