The First Commission
BT and London 2012
As the official communications services partner for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, we believe our role is not just to install the communications services to deliver the most connected Games ever; it's also to help tell the story of the Games - to engage the nation with the people and places at the heart of the London 2012 story.
BT is providing the funding for the National Portrait Gallery to commission world-class photographers to take 100 new portraits of the people making a difference to the Games. From businessmen and athletes to children and construction workers, the Road to 2012 project will tell stories to inspire a nation and build a lasting legacy long after the Games have finished.
Through our involvement in this project we're becoming a Premier Partner of the Cultural Olympiad. This is really important to us - London 2012 is a once in a lifetime experience. It's important for the cultural history of the nation that this is documented and celebrated properly - and we're really proud to be making this possible.
