Schools and young people were able to further explore poetry, photography and portraiture at each exhibition venue through an extensive programme of bespoke learning and engagement activity developed for the project by the National Portrait Gallery and regional partners working with the National Literacy Trust and Apples and Snakes.

The National Literacy Trust developed and delivered a literacy programme for schools and teachers with input from local providers.
