Poet and critic. Raine’s poetry is often autobiographical and collections include The Onion, Memory (1978), History: The Home Movie (1994) and, most recently, How Snow Falls (2010). He was awarded a Cholmondeley Award in 1983 and was named Sunday Times Writer of the Year in 1998.
