1920s Surrealist artists Claude Cahun and Marcel Moore come to life in this hybrid documentary. Lesbians and step-sisters, the gender-bending artists lived and worked together all their lives. Heroic resisters to the Nazis occupying Jersey during the Second World War, they were captured and sentenced to death. (Dir Barbara Hammer, 2006, 55 minutes).

A departure from the camp melodrama of many of his earlier films, Almodovar presents an obsessive (and literally) surgical examination exploring the inherent and constructed elements of human identity.
