Terms and Conditions

  1. Entrants must be over 18 years old and UK residents and must hold a valid passport with any necessary Visas.
  2. No purchase is necessary.
  3. No cash alternative. The prizes cannot be combined with any other offer and cannot be transferred or exchanged for cash.
  4. Entry is limited to one per person.
  5. Closing date for entries is 18 October 2009. The winning entrant will be notified by email by 30 October 2009
  6. Entries must be submitted online to the National Portrait Gallery. The winning entrant will be chosen at random by the National Portrait Gallery from all completed and valid entries received by the closing date. The decision is final and not open to challenge.
  7. One winner will receive a prize of two nights bed and breakfast at the Axel Hotel Berlin (in a double or twin room) with return flights from London to Berlin with Lufthansa for two people.
  8. This prize must be taken before 31st August 2010, and cannot be used for stays including Bank Holidays and Trade Show dates.
  9. Employees of the National Portrait Gallery, Lufthansa, the German National Tourist Office and associated companies, their families, agents or anyone else connected with the competition are not permitted to enter.
  10. The winner's travel and hotel accommodation is subject to availability.
  11. The winner is responsible for all costs, connections and expenses not set out in these terms and conditions and for ensuring they and their guest have all necessary documents including valid passports, visas (where applicable) and travel insurance.
  12. The National Portrait Gallery reserves the right to substitute the prize with a prize of similar value at its own discretion.
  13. The National Portrait Gallery reserves the right to withdraw or amend the competition as necessary due to circumstances outside its control.
  14. By entering the competition, all entrants will be deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these rules.
  15. The competition is run by the Marketing Department, National Portrait Gallery, St Martin's Place, London WC2H 0HE in conjunction with the German National Tourist Board
