Violet Schiff (née Beddington, (1874–1962) was the wife of Sidney Schiff (1868–1944), a novelist who wrote under the pen name ‘Stephen Hudson’. In Violet Schiff’s obituary, T. S. Eliot wrote that “In the 1920s the Schiffs’ hospitality, generosity, and encouragement meant much to a number of young artists of whom I was one.” Wyndham Lewis was also fortunate to be among those whom the Schiffs supported financially.
