The folds that were originally painted in the cloth of honour behind Elizabeth are clearly visible in the x-ray image in the centre, and the broad brushwork of the priming layer can also be seen. The left panel join has been rejoined and the restoration in this area appears dark in the image taken in ultra violet light on the right.
