National Portrait Gallery works in Elizabeth to Victoria exhibition at the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow
To mark the 160th Anniversary year of the foundation of both the National Portrait Gallery, London and the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow the Gallery is taking part in an unprecedented cultural exchange with Russia. The project is part of the Gallery’s programme of national and international loans which enable us to share our Collection with as wide a range of people as possible.
Visitors in London can see Russia and the Arts: The Age of Tolstoy and Tchaikovsky from 17 March - 26 June 2016. In Moscow, the State Tretyakov Gallery will host Elizabeth to Victoria: British Portraits from the Collection of the National Portrait Gallery from 21 April - 24 July 2016. The works going to the Tretyakov Gallery will return in phases from September 2016. Please see full list of below.
