Curated by the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, Edinburgh, as part of a three-year nationwide tour, this display considers Sir Anthony van Dyck’s Self-portrait in the context of male portraiture.

The display explores male fashion from the 16th century to the emergence of the dandy in the 18th century and the role of gender, sexuality and celebrity in contemporary representations of men.

Edinburgh based, Mercury Prize winning musicians Young Fathers will create a unique soundtrack and video for the display.
