Sir Peter Reginald Frederick Hall

Director of plays, films and opera; Founder and Director of the Royal Shakespeare Company (1960-73) and of the National Theatre (1973-88). Former Artistic Director of the Old Vic, Glyndebourne Festival Opera and of his own producing company since 1988. In 2005 he directed Beckett's Waiting for Godot at the Theatre Royal, Bath, fifty years after he directed the English premiere at the Arts Theatre in London.
