Artist, printmaker and teacher of art, Jones studied at Hornsey Art School (1955-59) and the Royal College of Art (1959-60). An early Pop artist, Jones is best known for his stylish, brightly coloured paintings on themes such as buses, man/woman figures and images of glamour. From the mid 1960s his work was known for its fetishistic images, including female figures in the form of furniture pieces and metal cut-outs. Jones was elected a member of the Royal Academy in 1986.
