The sculptor John Bacon the Younger received his initial training under his father, John Bacon the Elder, before attending the Royal Academy Schools at the age of twelve. By his mid teens, he was exhibiting at the Academy himself. On his father's death, he completed his unfinished works. He went on to become a successful and prolific sculptor in his own right.
