Francis Kyte

For the first twenty years of Francis Kyte's career, he worked as a mezzotint engraver; during the 1740s, he painted portraits. The mezzotints were made after portraits of well-known figures, such as Elizabeth I (after Nicholas Hilliard), Henrietta, Countess of Godolphin and Harriet, Duchess of Newcastle (both after Sir Godfrey Kneller). He worked for publisher Edward Cooper and later also for John Bowles.
