Marino Marini

Marini was born in Pistoia and attended the Academy of Art in Florence, followed by two years in Paris (1928-9). He taught in the 1930s at Monza, becoming Professor of Sculpture at the Brera, Milan in 1940. He went to Switzerland in 1942 and returned to Italy in 1946. His subject matter from the mid-1930s concentrated on the theme of horse and rider.
