Lucia Moholy
(1894-1989), PhotographerArtist of 45 portraits
Born in Prague, Moholy married the Hungarian painter and photographer, Laszlo Moholy-Nagy and created the first experimental photograms. She lived and worked in London from 1934 as freelance lecturer and photographer. Moholy is now recognised as a key figure in the Bauhaus art school, although at the time her works were largely overshadowed by her husband. In 1933, anticipating the Second World War, the two emigrated separately to London.
