Harold Wright ('Stuff')
(1858-1908), Stipendiary magistrate for the Potteries and cartoonist in Vanity FairArtist associated with 33 portraits
In the 1890s Wright was one of an international group of artists who worked for Vanity Fair magazine. They produced caricatures of many of the leading characters of the day, including artists, athletes, royalty, statesmen, scientists, authors, actors, soldiers and scholars. He signed his works 'Stuff'.

I believe that the lovely oil painting of A.E.Stoddart in MCC's collection at Lord's (currently hung in the Reading Room in the Pavilion) is by Harold Wright ("Stuff"). There has been no attribution for this work, but I recently examined this large painting, and bottom left are the initials HW.
