Hello Mary O'Neill was my father's cousin. I note that you do not have her date of birth. She was born in 1907, in Carisbrooke, Isle of Wight. She illustrated two non-fiction works by her close friend, this sitter, Kate O'Brien, and became her literary executor on Kate's death in 1974. She also illustrated one edition of a book by her mother, Elizabeth O'Neill, A Nursery History of England, published by Nelson in 1910 and still in print in 1960. You have in the NPG a photographic portrait of Mary's father, Herbert Charles O'Neill 1879-1953.
