Dawoud Bey

Bey began his career as a photographer in 1975 photographing in the streets of Harlem, New York, a project that was exhibited in 1979 at the Studio Museum in Harlem. Bey has completed a number of collaborative projects with various communities and museums since 1992, including a project with the National Portrait Gallery in London, where he worked with school and college students from three schools in London. He has also taught and lectured at various academic institutions. His photographs have been widely published and exhibited extensively, both in the US and in Europe.
