(1944-), Guitarist, songwriter and member of 'The Yardbirds' and 'Led Zeppelin'

James Patrick ('Jimmy') Page

Sitter in 8 portraits
Largely self-taught, Page started out as a session guitarist and then joined the Yardbirds as the band's bassist. Two years later Page formed the New Yardbirds which soon changed its name to Led Zeppelin. The 1970s saw the group rise to international fame with stadium concerts across the world. In 1980 the band's drummer John Bonham died and the group disbanded. In 1984 Page recorded with Robert Plant as the Honeydrippers and he worked with John Paul Jones on a film soundtrack for Scream for Help (1985). Page is widely considered one of the most influential rock guitarists and has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, as a member of both the Yardbirds and Led Zeppelin.
