Since my previous comment, my research tells me that Henry James Newbery is the son of Edward Newbery and his wife Ann (surname as yet undiscovered), born circa 1791 in either Middlesex or City of London, and baptised 13 Jul 1791 at St Bartholomew by the Exchange.

His early career he was based in Garsdon, Wiltshire, later returning to London. He married 1) Harriet POTTER (nee DAVIES I believe) in Garsdon, Wiltshire and had 1 daughter, Anna Marie, referenced in previous comment. Wife Harriet died and was buried 25 Aug 1820 in Garsdon. Henry James then married Ann Magrath FAWCETT and had at least 6 more children.

Henry James died 21 July 1866 at 118 Sloane Street in Chelsea, and is buried 27 July 1866 in nearby Brompton Cemetery.

Henry James Newbery's mother Ann's 3rd husband was William Dawson, so that's the connection. My 6th great granduncle was his stepfather! In fact, the marriage took place 22 Nov 1827 at St. Mary's, Islington, and Henry James was one of the witnesses.

Henry James Newbery lived in the Rectory House in Rood Lane, St Margaret Pattens Parish in the city of London in 1841. He was joint Rector of SMP and St Gabriel Fenchurch in 1861.

His daughter Anna Marie ( 1821) was bequeathed items from her step grandfather William Dawson, who died in 1828. William Dawson is my 6th great granduncle. A fun mystery to work out how they were related exactly!
