Journalist, newsreader and television presenter. Bruce studied French and Italian at Hertford College, University of Oxford before joining the BBC in 1989 as a researcher for Panorama. As a reporter first for Breakfast News (1991-2), then as a presenter for Newsnight (1995-8), and the Ten O'Clock News (since 1999), Bruce became recognised for her ability to deliver breaking news stories with flair and authority. She has also worked as a presenter for popular series' including Crimewatch UK (2000-08) and Antiques Roadshow (since 2008).
