Born in the West Midlands and raised in Dublin, Phil Lynott formed the band Thin Lizzy in 1969 with Brian Downey and Eric Bell. Undergoing several line-up changes throughout the 1970s, Thin Lizzy encountered enormous success in the charts with albums such as Fighting, Jailbreak and Live and Dangerous; and on tour in Europe and America.
