There is also a portrait of John Travers Cornwell at Grimsby Town Hall, I understand he died of his wounds at the old Grimsby Hospital, Scartho Road, and a ward was named after him there.

John Travers Cornwell was a close relative of my father Victor John Cornwell.
As children we were told of the heroic valour of young John Cornwell who ''stood by his post', whilst his ship went down at the age of 13 at the Battle of Jutland. My father was born in East Ham London, where I believe, Cornwell descents originated from.
I have since discovered that John Cornwell had a state funeral. There is a portrait of John Cornwell, in the Greenwich Museum which I have visited.
