He was the general manager of the largest railway company in Argentina, the Ferrocarril del Sud, the line that linked Buenos Aires with the southern half of Argentina, reaching Patagonia and the Southern Andes mountains. The Argentine railway network, the second or third largest in the Americas, extending for some 30000 miles, was made and owned by British capital, until bought by President Perón in 1947, the year this picture was taken.
