Won bronze in gymnastics on the pommel horse at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, only the second British medal in individual gymnastics since the Games were established in 1896. Four years later at the 2012 London Olympics Smith won silver in the same event and bronze in the men's artistic team all-around event with Sam Oldham, Daniel Purvis, Kristian Thomas and Max Whitlock.
