Basil Bunting

Poet; globally peripatetic until the 1950s, Bunting knew T.S. Eliot, Ezra Pound and W.B. Yeats and had received some recognition as a poet (Redimiculum Metellarum, 1930, The Spoils, 1951) before returning to his native Northumberland and finding fame with his masterpiece, Briggflatts (1966).
