Second daughter of Leonid Krassin, the first Soviet Ambassador to London and Paris. Katja Krassin was educated at Cambridge University. She worked as a dress designer and theatrical costumier from premises at 4 Savile Row, London. She was costume designer for the film While the Sun Shines (1947), based on Terence Rattigan's play. Her career drew to a close in October 1946.
