An artist of Ghanaian descent based in London, Yiadom-Boakye studied at Central Saint Martins, Falmouth University and the Royal Academy Schools, and has exhibited her figurative oil paintings internationally. Yiadom-Boakye's first solo exhibition How To Live at the Prowler Project Space, London (2004), was followed by shows including Essays and Letters, Michael Stevenson Gallery, Cape Town (2010) and Extracts and Verses, Chisenhale Gallery (2012), for which she was nominated for the 2013 Turner Prize .
