Timothy ffytche was a friend and colleague of ALLAN FRIEDMANN (d2005) who designed the first computerised visual field analyser (1966) - an important tool for the early diagnosis of eye diseases like glaucoma. Though Friedmann (no relation of mine as far as I know) himself is not pictured, it's nice to know he has a vicarious presence in the gallery through what I think is his instrument being included on the right of this portrait.
