Dr John White, formerly Surgeon General of the First Fleet to New South Wales (1787-1788), was twice married. To Elizabeth Priscilla Lasack on the 29 February 1796 (St Martin's in the Fields, Westminster). The union produced three children, Richard Hammond White (28 August 1799), Clara Christiana White who became the second wife of Ralph Bernal MP and Augusta Catherine Anne White who married Lieutenant, later Lieutenant General Henry Sandham (Royal Engineers). On the death of Elizabeth Priscilla, Dr White (MD St Andrews 1797) married Mrs Elizabeth Hope at St Nicholas Anglican Church, Brighton, Sussex on 22 April 1829 (without issue). White had a son earlier by convict Rachel Turner (1762-1838), christened Andrew Douglass at St Philip's Church, 30 September 1793, Sydney, who returned to England with his father in 1795 and following Army service returned to NSW and died at Parramatta in 1837.
