My husband is a descendant of Sir William Elias Taunton. We believe that his daughter Marianne Taunton married Eugene Collins, MP and the family name is now Taunton-Collins. We would be interested in getting in touch with any relations.

I discovered tonight via the internet and my family tree that Sir William Elias Taunton is my G g G G ... grandfather.. although in the Family Search it is spelt Willian which is possibly incorrect.
Exciting. I am heading to England in December so will be definitely visiting Grandpont House where it says he died.

Sir William Elias Taunton is my G G G grandfather through my maternal grandmother, Kitty Taunton. The Tauntons are direct descendants of William the Conqueror.
I would be delighted to share details with anyone interested.
