Asher started her film career in Mandy (1952) and later appeared as a waif starring opposite Michael Caine in Alfie (1966). Regular girlfriend of Beatle Paul McCartney in the 1960s before she began her relationship with Gerald Scarfe, whom she met in 1970 and married in 1981. She is celebrated for her intelligence, striking red hair and blue eyes and known for her cake designs and novels.
