Won gold in rowing in the men's coxed eight at the 1908 London Olympics. His teammates were Henry Cresswell Bucknall, Charles Desborough Burnell, Albert Charles Gladstone, Banner Carruthers Johnstone, Frederick Septimus Kelly, Gilchrist Stanley Maclagan, Guy Oliver Nickalls and Ronald Harcour Sanderson.
