Journalist, cookery writer and broadcaster. Began her literary career as an editor at Quartet Books (1982-4) before working on the Sunday Times Arts and Review Section. Restaurant columnist for The Spectator (1985-96) and food writer for Vogue from 1996. Attracted huge attention from her books How to Eat (1998), How to be a Domestic Goddess (2000) and Nigella Bites (2001) with accompanying television series.
