Comedienne and singer, became a major revue star in Mr Tower of Loon (1925); best known for comic songs in Lancashire dialect such as Sally and The Biggest Aspidistra in the World; by 1938 the highest paid star in England and Hollywood, known as 'Our Gracie'.
