From Ingamells, Dictionary of British and Irish Travellers in Italy 1701-1800 (1997) 615: "Charles Lucy, a portrait painter, born in London in 1692, went in 1705 to Florence where he studied under Dandini; he then studied under Cignani in Foil, before settling at Bologna to practise as a portrait painter."
