Edward Fordham Flower was a brewer who founded Flower's brewery in Stratford upon Avon in 1831. He was the son of Richard Flower, his brother George helped found the settlement of Albion in Illinois, and his uncle was the radical journalist Benjamin Flower, whose daughter Sarahwrote the hymn “Nearer My God To Thee".
