Lady Eden became a guardian to a girl named Florence Nudd during the second World War. Florence was evacuated during the war from Jarrow to Sedgefield where Lady Eden was a widower. After the war was over Florence became Lady Eden's companion. This was to be the happiest time of young Florence's life. I know this as Florrie (as she liked to be called) was my grandmother.
