T ./L t. Roy Godfrey Bullen Spicer, Res. Cav. For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. When the situation was obscure, he went with a liaison patrol. Passing through a heavy fire, he proceeded along the front, and informed the post commanders of the
situation on their flanks, of which in most cases they were completely ignorant. He returned with accurate information of great value. Later,hewasabletorallysomebadly shaken i n f a n t r y , when his coolness and example encouraged them greatly.

Son of Bullen and Adele Spicer; husband of Margaret Frances Ina Spicer (nee Money), of Yarmouth, Isle of Wight. Scholar of St. Paul's School. Commissioner The Kenya Police 1925-31. Chief Constable of the Isle of Wight 1938-46. Inspector General of Police and Prisons, Palestine 1931-38. Commander of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem. Awarded the King's Police Medal. Also served in the 1914-18 War.
